Membership:

a. This Committee should have at least four members.

b. Members should have a passion for diaconal work. Those serving as past and present deacons are encouraged to become involved.

c. Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC) Representatives, Operation Manna (OM) Representative, Diaconal Ministry Canada (DMC) Representative, and Diaconal Ministries Developers (DMD) will sit on the Committee in advisor roles.

Mandate: The Diaconal Committee exists to encourage and promote the work of deacons in Classis in partnership with Diaconal Ministries Canada (DMC) through:

a. Training of new and existing deacons.

b. Providing resources to diaconates

c. Encouraging fellowship, support and sharing of best practice among the diaconates of the Congregations in Classis.

d. Supporting and developing mutual ministries (examples: Operation Manna, The Lighthouse, refugee sponsorship).
