Members: This Committee shall consist of at least six persons.
Mandate:
a. Mission Statement: Our purpose is to encourage racial and ethnic diversity within Christian Reformed Churches by providing forums for learning and sharing experiences that will intentionally foster understanding, reconciliation, and enrichment between cultures. (Ephesians 4:12,13)
b. Duties:
(1) Identify on a recurring basis significant cross-cultural issues and needs that confront the Churches of Classis. e.g. survey.
(2) Provide educational opportunities that enhance current cross-cultural understanding and harmony. e.g. conduct forums for people to tell stories and create momentum for intentional ministry; respond to or initiate conversations with Churches to assist them in identifying barriers and pursuing racial diversity.
(3) Contribute to the resolution of conflict resulting from our cross-cultural differences.
(4) Encourage and assist Classis and its Churches in utilizing multi-racial leadership.
(5) Submit plans, goals, and progress reports to Classis on an annual basis and review every three years the overall mandate.
